Progress Cycle (1st Value)
People often ask where the instruction manual is for parenting, relationships, or hard choices.
I don’t have an instruction manual, but I do have a blueprint (posted above)!
Your journey through this toured representation will go like this.
Each circle is the path you are taking. You start with the smallest circle, starting at 9:00 and rotating clockwise.
Each rectangle along the top of the circles are the phases, they are labeled.
Each word on the bottom of the circles are responsibilities, or the consequences to deal with in order to progress to the next cycle.
Every time you succeed in a cycle, you graduate to the next larger circle.
It is an expanding cycle of actions that will allow you to remove responsibilities that are getting in your way. Once you have removed the responsibility that is limiting your acting, you are able to move on to a more involved group of actions. I call it the Progress Cycle.
So the first cycle is just preparing, which allows you to remove worry.
Once this cycle or circle is complete, you can continue onto the next largest circle. In this cycle you start by preparing again, with the new lack of worry. You then gain perspective on the action, which allows you to remove the responsibility of being an expert.
3rd cycle: Prepare again, more perspective, then you can start to prioritize, or find what you care about in reference to the given activity. This will remove the responsibility of should, the need to do things that you think you should but don’t really want to or need to.
As you continue through the process, you will take on larger and longer cycles that further your journey and growth.
I will delve deeper into each of these cycles with upcoming blogs, with associated activities that can help.
