Prepare (Progress Cycle 1)

Prepare.PNG

Preparing is learning how to fall well, by this I mean avoiding taking damage. The ability to fail in a way that you can get up and try again.

If you want to learn how to rock climb or skateboard, you better learn how to avoid injuring yourself, and if you want to learn how to date, you will have to prepare your emotions for a little rejection.

Another important aspects of preparation is taking ownership over your actions. Don’t be a victim to your life. Choose to direct where your life will go, and prepare for this choice by understanding that it is your choice.

Not trying is just a fall that you never will get up from.

By reading this you have taken the first step in preparation.

A positive consequence of preparation is a removal of worry. Worry limits your ability to think clearly and act, so prepare yourself to deal with the future failures of learning new things.

Activity -

To help you prepare, I want you to build a table, and list the things you are worried about. Then on the other side of the table, list ways that you can minimize the consequences and avoid the thing you are worried about.

If you want to go further in depth on dealing with worry, you should check out THIS video by Tim Ferris
