Investing
Investing is the idea that you can affect the outcome of long term net betterment. Investing is a paradigm, and the perspective is as important as the action of using what you have for future returns.
Most people think of investing as financial but it is not talking ONLY about money, in fact it is not even primarily about money. Investment is putting energy and resources towards opportunities.
On one hand investing is accomplished through the perspective of delayed gratification. Put some of the effort into a future goal that does not show immediately reward. On the other hand, investing is also about using your resources wisely. If you have an excess of time, invest your time. If you have an excess of skill, leverage the skill and knowledge of tools.
Like the hunters and gatherers that decided to start planting crops and protecting animals, they invested their knowledge and efforts to encourage the things they wanted in their lives to flourish around them.
By putting effort into something, you are cultivating knowledge and skill at that chosen thing. Move towards the life that you want. Invest in what helps you experience what you value.
If you invest your time and resources into things that you don’t care about, you will get better and more skilled at that thing that you don’t want to do.
Take some time to plant a seed, but plant it where you want that tree to grow.
