Centralization has benefits

• focused movement and change

• Use of power, without undue bureaucratic decision making

Centralization also has drawbacks

• opportunity for corruption, because there is only one point to manipulate

• opportunity for abuse of power

Centralization for progress, and decentralization for status quo
