Consequences

Consequences are often frames as a penalty for an action. but I would argue that all of the best things in life are the consequence of chances taken and effort put forth.

Promotions are consequence for the job you have done in the past, and marriage is the consequence of a relationship built.

Allowing people to deal with consequences is a gift, that teaches that individual autonomy, making their minds up for themselves. It teaches them to take ownership.

Consequences also teach people to look at the possible outcomes of their actions. The consequences of life can be different, but make different choices.
