Unemployment being used as a measure for the health of a society is flawed and susceptible to manipulation.

If a government wants to look healthy when it is not, all it has to do is create new positions for all the people that are not otherwise employed.

These jobs steals the value from the fiat currency. Money printers dilute the current value, making all of our savings less valuable.

These jobs also steal the useful hours of each individuals day. Instead of working on something that will benefit society, the employed spend their time toiling away at bureaucracy. Engaged in soul rotting jobs to ensure that they have medical insurance.
