Talking Trash

Everyone talks a little trash, but who they are talking trash to is the defining variable.

• talking trash to people you don’t like. This is generally to hurt or belittle them, or to make you feel better about yourself.

• talking trash to people you like. This is generally to let your friends know how clever you are. It also accomplishes the goal of letting them know that you like them despite or because of their flaws.
