Earned Media

Earned Media is a term I just learned about. It refers to the media and reputation you have gathered without paying for add space. It is the interesting things posted, that are reposted and shared.

I love this idea that the things that you say and way you think can bring you as much attention and audience as the resources and money you control.

So where did earned media start, and where is it going?

• Comedians get it, the more they are quoted, the more people will be looking to them for insights.

• Mr. Beast and other you tube personalities have perfected how to monotize reputation.

• Hopefully politicians learn to use Earned Media, and get ellected on their ideas, instead of their backers.
