Walk it off

“If you are going through hell, keep going” Winston Churchill

Although it hurts to carry on, I have seen far greater injuries result from limping and advertising the pain. The sprained ankle becomes a bum knee, becomes a bad hip, becomes a bad back.

The brace put on the hurt knee creates a weakness in the joint, that will actually get injured when pushed.

If feelings are hurt, offense and overdramatic reaction do not help recovery. They may help obtain some power through empathy and pity, but what does the act of weakness do to self-esteem. By showing others weakness, you are also convincing yourself of your inability.

The chemical aid put in your body helps you deal with the emotional pain, by helping you avoid the pain. The skill of dealing with it and learning to get past that hell is missed.

Don’t stop and enjoy the view while in hell, and definitely don’t put on your knee brace while advertising the situation.

Walk it off!
