Why are we coddling the things we depend on?

We could selectively breed and encourage evolution.

What if we made food plants tougher than all the other plants. Encouraging them to evolve.

They would always wins.

Kinda sounds like what we are doing to the thistle, dandelions, and diseases. We torture them with chemicals and antibiotics until they become resistant and monstrous.
