Striving kills Passion

Striving is at odds with Passion

When you start making choices you have 360 degrees of possible goals, and 360 degrees of passion.

Striving for a point in the distance is wanting an imagined end (red line). When you strive too hard you put blinders on to the alternative paths you life can take. This assumes that when you chose you knew best, not taking into account the growth and experience you have gained on the journey.

If however, you define passion as seeking possibilities, you can apply the knowledge and skills you have gained over a lifetime. Changing the path that meanders through your life and using that flexible to exploration the things that light a flame of excitement and joy. You don’t know where you will end up when you start the journey, but you know it will resonate with your soul.

I am not saying to ignore consequences. I am still in support of delayed gratification and challenging yourself. You are however allowed to change the path you are on and follow your passions.
