Does the possibility of physical intimacy limit the connection one is able to make with other people?

In order to get past the moment in the relationship where physical intimacy is inevitable, there has to be a hard stop. This could take the form of family relationship, an opposing relationship, or a lack of attraction.

This is why men and women are not able to be as good of friends as groups of men. There is a low possibility of physical intimacy, therefore the trust and friendship can ascend to a higher level, surpassing survival urges.

Maybe that is the worst consequence of being gay. The possibility of a plutonic relationship is impossible.
