Competition

Decide whether someone is you ally or your enemy, and that will decide how you compete with them. I love to compete with all people, but there are very different priorities depending on the person I am competing with, and whether I want them to be successful.

When they are your ally, support and challenge.

  • Support them when they are winning, encourage them to continue with a winning strategy and perfect the technique.

  • Challenge them when they are losing, to view the situation from another perspective, and try to develop different skills.

When they are an Enemy, attack and punish.

  • Attack them when they are winning, so they can never settle and progress to a more dominant positions. put doubt in their mind that they are actually dominating.

  • Punish them when they are losing, make them fear not only that position, buy you putting them back in that position.

Now apply this perspective to how you interact with others.

Are your children allies or enemies… you should be supporting and challenging instead of attacking and punishing!
