Anti-Enabler

Respecting someone’s insecurities is socially acceptable, but encouraging them to celebrate those insecurities is dangerous.

The voicing of insecurities without a strategy for how to gain confidence encourages the actor to see them selves as a victim. Reinforcing the idea that they are being oppressed by those around them that are resilient.

This also sets the expectation that friends and relatives walk on eggshells around them. Once it is unacceptable to confront others, there is no relationship.

Therefore I commit to be an anti-enabler. I will help you solve your insecurities through helping you gain skills and confidence, but if I am going to take on the role of supporter, I have to be allowed to take on the role of challenger also.
